At Casa Nido Academy, our approach is rooted in a simple belief:
Children are whole, capable, and deeply connected to God, others, and the world around them.
We do not see early childhood as something to rush through. We see it as a sacred season of life that deserves time, presence, and intention.
Our role as educators is not to “fill children with information,” but to carefully prepare an environment where they can grow in confidence, curiosity, independence, and faith.
A Catholic Foundation
Our program is grounded in the Catholic faith and shaped by a deep respect for the spiritual life of the child.
Children are introduced to God through:
daily prayer and simple rituals
stories from Scripture
conversations about virtue, kindness, forgiveness, and gratitude
opportunities to experience quiet, reflection, and reverence
Faith is not treated as a separate subject—it is woven gently into the rhythm of the day and into how we speak, guide, and care for children.
With devotion to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, we seek to create a peaceful environment where children feel protected, loved, and nurtured.
My connection to Reggio Emilia–inspired learning began in my teenage years and has shaped how I see children ever since.

Montessori Influence
We draw from Montessori principles to support independence, concentration, responsibility, and respect for the child.
Each day, children will participate in Montessori-inspired work cycles that allow them uninterrupted time to engage deeply with meaningful activities. Through carefully prepared environments and hands-on materials, children are encouraged to work at their own pace, follow their interests, and experience the satisfaction that comes from mastering a skill through repetition and practice.
A strong emphasis is placed on practical life experiences that help children develop confidence, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility. Activities such as caring for their environment, preparing simple snacks, pouring, sorting, cleaning, gardening, and other purposeful tasks allow children to build real-world skills while fostering independence.
We also place great value on grace and courtesy. Children are gently guided in learning how to greet others, take turns in conversation, offer help, resolve conflicts peacefully, care for shared materials, practice good manners, and show respect for themselves, others, and their environment. These lessons help build a strong foundation for healthy relationships, empathy, and community.
We recognize that every child develops differently. Rather than expecting all children to learn the same thing at the same time, we strive to meet each child where they are developmentally, offering individualized opportunities for growth, challenge, and success.
We believe children thrive when they are not rushed, interrupted, or overstimulated. By balancing freedom within structure, we create an environment where children can slow down, focus deeply, build confidence, and experience the joy of meaningful work.
Nature & Outdoor Learning
We believe children benefit from regular opportunities to learn and explore outdoors.
At Casa Nido Academy, children will engage in hands-on experiences that encourage observation, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them. Whenever possible, we will incorporate our local Miami ecosystems into learning, helping children develop a connection to the plants, animals, weather, and natural environments that make our community unique.
Through gardening, outdoor exploration, nature-based investigations, and creative projects inspired by the environment, children are encouraged to slow down, observe closely, ask questions, and discover the beauty of God’s creation firsthand.
Intentional Early Childhood Leadership
As a Director in Early Childhood Education with a Bachelor’s degree focused on child development, my work has centered on understanding how young children learn best when their emotional, social, and developmental needs are truly respected.
Beyond my professional experience, I am also a mother of three—two here on earth and one in heaven. Motherhood has shaped my understanding of children in profound ways and has deepened my appreciation for the sacredness of childhood, family, and faith.
Casa Nido is built from both professional experience and personal conviction: that children thrive in environments that are calm, consistent, loving, and deeply intentional.
